The design of Winter Summerland is a unique take on miniature golf courses. Disney does this by combining two polar opposites into one experience. Coming in you have two courses, Winter or Summer. Summer is more popular and more crowded, but Winter is still a great experience. Some holes have props that will move depending on what you do and they are actually quite funny. You can see Mickey shaped gingerbread men, elves, and snow (or sand) statues. The theme revolves around Santa Claus, specifically Christmas in December and July. It shows what Santa does in each season and how Christmas looks. The end is a secret message from Santa.
The course is pretty balanced with the difficultly level. None of the holes are extremely difficult but some are a little more challenging. For example, hole number nine “Castle á la moat” on the winter side is very tough! Trying to get the ball across the bridge and into the castle makes even the best golfer at Griffin Guide start sweating! The real “challenge” is hoping that you’ll be able to play on the summer side. The winter side is typically less busy, so getting to play on the summer side can be a little more difficult due to the high demand and large crowds. All in all you will find it has a great level of difficulty for anyone to play. Beating one side makes you feel very good especially when waiting to see the results. The course is so fun, when you are leaving you just want to play one more round! Beating a challenging hole is really nice and gives you a great sense of accomplishment. If you score high enough, not only do you get bragging rights among the people you are playing with; but if you beat the high score of the day Disney will write your name on the chalkboard near the entrance. The fun and excitement of this miniature golf course is definitely worth giving it a try.

- There is a giant fake snow machine that can cool you off on a hot day.
- If you can, try to go on the summer side because it is more interesting and the “Christmas in July” music playing makes you want to dance!
